Polytechnic Welcome Tour

On September 18, students of the youth patriotic movement “Baida” and students of grades 10–11 of the “Perspektyva” lyceum visited the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University. More than 60 young guests of the university took part in a cool excursion and bright master classes from Polytechnic professionals.

The participants of the “Polytech Welcome Tour” were greeted by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Socio-Economic Development and Youth Policy Andriy Ivanchenko, Director of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University Olena Nazarova, Director of the Zaporizhia Regional Center for Polytechnic Education Tetyana Solovyova, and Deputy Head of the ZMR District Administration for Oleksandrivskyi District Nataliya Bukhtiyarova.

And then it gets even more interesting! After an excursion to the Museum of the History of Technical Progress, the students went to interactive master classes that show that studying at the Polytechnic is about drive, creativity, and new discoveries:
– “Software that makes money” from Senior Lecturer of the Department of Metal-Cutting Machine Tools and Tools Serhiy Tanchenko: design, modeling, and production – in one lesson
– “Alchemy of the 21st Century: Modern Materials Science” from Senior Lecturer of the Department of Physical Materials Science Elizaveta Fasol: Modern materials science is magic that works in real life
– “Journey into the World of Lifting Mechanisms” from Assistant Professor of the Department of Machine Parts and Lifting and Transport Mechanisms Dmytro Kozak: Today, the participants tried to operate a real crane and learned how it works
– “FlyTech: program, control, fly” from Senior Lecturer of the Department of Electric Drive and Automation of Industrial Installations Serhiy Deyev and Laboratory Head Svitlana Donets: Schoolchildren learned to program and control drones, tried to lift them into the air and lay an effective route
– “Mechatronics and Automation of the Future” from Associate Professor of the Department of Electric Drive and Automation of Industrial Installations Volodymyr Osadchy: Robots and “smart” systems are our future, which will soon be created by our guests

In the Educational Hub of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, future applicants were presented with the opportunities for obtaining education at the military department, which is the only one in our region.

The presentation of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Management by its Dean Svitlana Kokareva was interesting and impressive – the significant achievements and activity of young athletes inspired the youth.

The head of the student government, Sofia Stepanenko, met with the students and shared the secrets of how the university’s youth turn every day of students into a bright event. Because student life is not only about studying, but also incredible opportunities for self-realization and active social activities.
