Results of the guest online lecture «The Hibuki Therapy Method in Working with Childhood Trauma»

On May 10, 2023, the Department of Social Work and Psychology of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University organized and conducted a guest binary online lecture «THE HIBUKI THERAPY METHOD IN WORKING WITH CHILDREN’S TRAUMA».

Guest lecturers are Daphne Sharon-Maksimov (educational psychologist, international expert in working with crises and trauma in children and adolescents, author and ideologist of the HIBUKI THERAPY project, director of the Kinder Velt Charity Rehabilitation Center (Ukraine); Israel) and Alyona Sadykina (psychologist (TMS Rehabilitation Center), postgraduate student of the Department of Education and Management of the Educational Institution of the Classical Private University, graduate of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, OP 053 Psychology, Ukraine).

During the meeting, the speaker:

• told the participants about the Hibuki therapy method invented in Israel and its application in working with traumatized children in Ukraine;
• shared the results of experimental studies of the effectiveness of the method;
• introduced the therapeutic toy «Hibuki» (a cuddly dog), which, thanks to the Daphne project, now helps not only Israeli children survive traumatic experiences, but also young Ukrainians cope with stress and war trauma.

A guest lecture was held as part of the study by master’s degree students-psychologists of the academic discipline «Crisis Psychology» (OP 053 Psychology) in cooperation with the Department of Special Education, FUFKS, NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» (OP Correctional Education); the Department of Social Education and Social Work, Mykhailo Dragomanov UDU, Kyiv (OP Social Work, Social Pedagogy and Social and Educational Work with Children and Youth); the Department of Psychology, FPP, Volodymyr Hnatyuk TNPU, Ternopil (OP Business and Management Psychology).

Over 260 guests from different parts of Ukraine took part in the online lecture. In addition to participants from Zaporizhzhia, there were guests from Kyiv, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Berdychiv, Kryvyi Rih, Lutsk, Lviv, Kremenets, Chernihiv, Pereyaslav, Kharkiv, Poltava, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Cherkasy, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kamianets-Podilskyi, Mukachevo, etc. There were also those who joined from other countries (Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Germany, Czech Republic). Among the participants are not only students of various universities, but also practicing psychologists, psychotherapists, teachers, speech therapists, social workers, as well as experienced and well-known Ukrainian scientists.

During the week, each guest will receive an electronic certificate of lecture participant from the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.
