So, from September 17 to 19, 2023, the Dumka chess club (Zaporizhzhia) hosted a championship among young men under 20, in which 8 chess players participated. According to the results of the competition, Danylo Malyar – a student of the group SN-123 became the winner and took 1st place in the chess championship!
«I knew that there were difficult games ahead, but I was sure that victory would be mine. It’s not for nothing that I am a candidate for master of sports in chess. Of course, there was a slight excitement, but as soon as I delved into the game, it passed. I believe that the main thing for winning in chess is to be confident in your abilities, be able to analyze the opponent’s moves and, of course, a pinch of luck. You can’t do without it.»
The winners were awarded with diplomas and medals from the Department of Sports, Family and Youth of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, as well as cash prizes from the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Serhiy Shtepa.
Student of group SN-123 Daryna Tverdokhlib, together with other residents of our city, joined the holiday of sports and health – the All-Ukrainian Olympic Day, which is held annually at the initiative of the International Olympic Committee by the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine with the aim of developing the Olympic movement in Ukraine. This year, the holiday was held on the Alley of Labor Glory with the participation of famous athletes, coaches, students of sports and general education schools, students, amateurs of physical culture and sports, who competed in the running program in different age categories. As a result of participation in the Olympic Day, Daryna received a special certificate signed by the President of the International Olympic Committee Thomas Bach and the President of the NOC of Ukraine Serhiy Bubka.
