A foreign collective monograph «Studies in Modern English» was published, which includes the works of teachers of the Department of Translation Theory and Practice of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University. The authors of the presented works are Professor Anatoliy Prykhodko, Associate Professor Elina Kushch, Associate Professor Kateryna Lut (together with Master’s student G. Starenkova) and Associate Professor Yevheniia Chetvertak.
In the collection, English-language communication is interpreted in the humanitarian paradigm of knowledge within the linguistic and psycho-sociocultural study of speech activity within the cognitive-communicative approach. The scientific achievements of researchers presented in the book are systematic and substantiated from the point of view of evidentiary narratives that reflect the transformational horizon of information theory, communication theory, and linguistic didactics theory in modern English-speaking verbal, creative, and digital environments.
The book represents a comprehensive approach to the study of the modern English language as an open synergistic system, which requires a description of the relationship between verbal and non-verbal concepts in the digital space.
The work integrates such innovative perspectives as the interaction of the natural English language and programming languages, cyber-aggression as a communicative model in the English-language digital discourse, ethics and democratization of the modern English language, current developments in the field of teaching English as a foreign language, and other issues related to this issue.
