On November 22, 2023, as part of the events dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, as well as the celebration of the 123rd anniversary of the founding of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, at the initiative of the Department of Ukrainian Studies and General Language Training, an interfaculty round table «With Ukraine in the Heart: Creativity That Inspires (Pages of Poetry by Hryhoriy Lutyi)» was held.

About seventy participants joined the online discussion. Presentations, stories about the literary and poetic heritage of the artist, analysis of the work of Hryhoriy Lyuty with recitation of poems were prepared by students of different faculties: Novotarsky Mykola (SP-112), Grin Vladislav (FKNT-213), Piddubny Mykyta (FKNT-523), Kyrylylo Kyrychenko (ETF-313), Yaroslav Shestakov (FKNT-213), Mykyta Melnyk (FSN-123). Memories of creative meetings with the master of words were shared by the poet, member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, head of the Zaporizhzhia branch of the Association of Young Parents «Berehynia Rodu» Yana Yakovenko. The poetess’s excited and insightful words created an extraordinary atmosphere of the event. Associate Professor Tetyana Bilenko, Associate Professor Tetyana Katysh, and Senior Lecturer Lina Myronyuk took part in arranging and preparing various fragments and slides for presentations of the life and work of Hryhoriy Lyuty.

The head of the fiction subscription sector, Nataliia Fedko, introduced all those present to the work of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic library, the work of writers from the Zaporizhzhia region, having prepared a video series of poetic meetings, an exhibition of books by Hryhoriy Lyuty.

The poetic word of Hryhoriy Lyuty is especially relevant in our time. Whatever we talk about: about the Ukrainian national idea, about patriotism, love for the Motherland, about universal human values ​​- we can find answers to all questions in his works. It is nice that during the event we remembered the anthem of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, the text of which was written in 2000 by Hryhoriy Lyuty, and the Zaporizhzhia composer Anatoliy Serdyuk set it to music. The result is a beautiful melody with deep meaning. For the first time, «Vivere est cogitare» was performed during the celebrations dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the «machine».

Currently, holding such events is extremely important, as it contributes to the formation of new ethical thinking and the unification of society thanks to the Ukrainian poetic word. For the first time, students of the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology took part in such an event, so they wrote reviews about their participation in the interfaculty round table «With Ukraine in the Heart: Creativity That Inspires (with Pages of Poetry by Hryhoriy Lyuty)».

I would like to express my great gratitude to the organizers for holding the event dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language. I was able to plunge into the amazing world of Hryhoriy Lyuty’s creativity. The round table was full of interesting moments: from an exhibition of the writer’s works to a fascinating acquaintance with his creative heritage through presentations, video materials and poetic readings. I was especially impressed by the speech of Yana Yakovenko, poetess and head of the Zaporizhzhia branch of the Association of Young Parents «Berehynia Rodu». Her passion and dedication to Ukrainian literature and culture were transmitted to those present. The event dedicated to the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language left a deep impression on me. This was my first experience of participating in such events, and it turned out to be incredible. I was especially impressed by the activity and organization of students from different faculties who took part in it. Each presentation was unique, filled with new information that was not duplicated in other presentations. Information about Hryhoriy Lyuty and his work turned out to be interesting. After the event, I felt a desire to learn more about this author’s work. I sincerely hope that similar events will also be held in the future (Shevchenko Rodion, FKNT-223).

I was lucky enough to be invited to the interfaculty round table «With Ukraine in the Heart: Creativity That Inspires». During the event, the participants immersed themselves in the atmosphere of creativity and greatness of the master of poetry Hryhoriy Lyuty. In his poems, he developed the themes of his native land and the Motherland. After listening to the presentations prepared by students of various faculties of our university, I was most impressed by the poem «Leave Yourself on the Earth», where the poet calls on his readers to remain present on the earth in future generations, in their actions and deeds. It was especially interesting to learn that the anthem of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University was created based on a poem by Hryhoriy Lyuty. At the meeting, we also met Yana Yakovenko, who was personally acquainted with the poet (Samoylov Vladislav, FKNT-223).

The interfaculty round table was very rich and interesting. Before this event, I was not familiar with the creative heritage of Hryhoriy Lyuty, so such events are very useful and informative for students. I really liked the event, which told us about the life and work of our compatriot Hryhoriy Lyuty, I was impressed by how actively and organizedly students from different faculties participated, preparing meaningful presentations. I had never heard of Grigoriy Luty and his work before, and after today’s event I had a desire to read the poetry of this author. I was moved by Yana Yakovenko’s story about Grigoriy Ivanovich Luty. When I listened to her stories, I was immersed in the poetic world of the artist (Mamont Vladislav, FKNT-223).
