«Whoever was not at the »galka« will not understand how the »DSS« DC can dance!»

On March 24, the solemn closing of the International STEM Festival «Student Jokes-2013» took place in the «Dniprospetsstal» cultural center, and we are happy to inform you of all the details of this amazing event!

According to tradition, the concert was preceded by a press conference, where the head of the jury Viktor Andrienko, the rector of ZNTU Serhiy Belikov, as well as such respected people and wonderful artists as Tetiana Ivanova, Vasyl Bendas, Vadim Nabokov, Oleh Zima, Larisa Neverova and Oleh Grigoriev, supported the conversation with the media.

First of all, the organizers and judges thanked the good friends of the festival, who provided tremendous support to «Student Jokes-2013». This is the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Mykolayovych Peklushenko, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Serhiyovych Ponomarev, as well as PC «Dniprospetsstal», PJSC «Zaporizhzhia Automobile Plant», OJSC «Zaporizhzhia Metallurgical Combine »Zaporizhstal«, JSC »Motor Sich«, etc.

The jury was very positive, so they were happy to tell us about their impressions of this year’s festival, as well as what they did not have time to share at the previous press conference.

Viktor Andrienko compared the STEM festival to a »whirlwind«. And, indeed: the event flew by in an instant – only five days, and emotions remained until next year! The artist noted: »The main thing in the festival is to support talent. And it is not important whether the participant will become an artist in the future – it is important that the stage helps to form an internal core, which means that he will become a person! Besides, many of them participate, mainly for the sake of «debriefing the flights». To improve and grow further”. The judges said that it is always interesting to communicate with young people. And then they joked that among them there is an eternal student who, by the way, is in his fourth year. From their smiles it was not difficult to understand that they were talking about the rector of ZNTU Serhii Belikov.

Also, as the chairman of the jury, Viktor Andrienko said: «The Grand Prix is ​​an unusual event. The participant deserves it only when the hall stands up after the performance. This year, unfortunately, this did not happen, so no one received such an award. The highlight of »Student Jokes-2013« was a new nomination – the »Best of Us« team sympathy prize. Here, the guys were able to sincerely evaluate the work of their colleagues.» «And now I pass the word to women and children!» – concluded Victor Andrienko with a smile.

Tetyana Ivanova took the floor: «It’s nice that the »jury« of »Student Jokes« was invited again. But I want to wish the contestants to expand the range of jokes. Not only exams and hostels, but also lectures, dating, fathers and children are recognized as good topics. »Did you notice that there was not a single political joke this year?« – Vasyl Bendas supported the conversation. »In this case, it’s stupid to touch on politics,« continued Viktor Andrienko. – If the Russians now start to sort out their politics, the Belarusians – theirs, and then we will go even further with our politics…» – «… then it will be possible to solve the problems of the customs union!» – summed up Serhii Belikov.

Vadim Nabokov continued the conversation: «I want to say thank you to the participants for the charge of creative positivity! I remembered my young student years and work. I hope this energy will spread in everyone’s hearts and souls!» Tetiana Ivanova added: «We want the STEM movement to pass from generation to generation.» Not «Comedy club», not KVN, but STEM. So that he is saved.« »Comedy club and KVN left STEM,« Viktor Andrienko added. – »Comedy…« and KVN are only two facets, and STEM is multifaceted.» Vasyl Bendas continued: «We want the STEM »rope« not to break. And then he »worked for his heart, health and tears!« »After all, it was so nice to see the performance of Belarusian «Kankana». This collective is already 30 years old, several generations have already passed through it. And this year, young artists came again,« said Viktor Andrienko, and then he gave the floor to »the man who brought us all together« Oleh Zima. As a veteran of the STEM movement, he stated: »Although KVN is more popular than STEM, it is precisely in STEM that they learn to tear up the hall.« STEM can also be serious. They love him not because he’s funny, but because he’s human.»

The conversation was supported by Oleh Grigoriev: «I’m flattered to be the emblem of the festival and, having no serious acting experience, sit on the jury with such people!». Then Larisa Nevyerova spoke: «It’s great that »Mashinka« has its own STEM club, which is still developing and is supported in every way.» To which Viktor Andrienko added: «Well, it largely depends on the leader! I am grateful to Serhii Borisovych for the fact that every year he gives his university and dormitory to destruction! Also, remember, he ran away from his hospital bed last year to close the festival. In this, of course, the place turned out to be more favorable – I flew in from Sweden for the closing. In general, it is worth sacrificing for the sake of STEM. For example, I postponed the filming of »Bolshoy Raznitsa« because I gave my word that I would come.»

The jury also thanked all those people who organized the festival, including the Professional Committee of Students of ZNTU. «This is a real hive, where each bee commands its hive,» said Vasyl Bendas. – It’s possible to say, «Good Services Company»! Thanks to the whole team!«.

The judges were asked what impression the long-awaited »Kankan« and »Old and Beautiful« made on them? »Kankan performed well. Thank you to the manager for bringing the young people, – Viktor Andrienko answered. – Regarding «Old and Beautiful», it would be nice to improve some numbers. Although we fully understand that rehearsing on Skype is difficult. After all, the guys are members of four different teams, from different countries and cities. And it’s still great that they work together, support each other, call each other, correspond. Remember how at the end of the speech they thanked STEM for their friendship, although they could have remained silent. But it is important! And yet, the main thing is participation. The guys set up an experiment, they tried it and did it right!«.

The next question was: how many points would you give for this year’s festival? »Twelve!« Viktor Andrienko answered. Have you also wondered whether there are any prohibited topics in STEM? »Our audience is the best censorship. If the hall did not accept the number, we will not discuss it at the «flight review» – that’s all it is, Viktor Mykolayovych said. And Vadym Nabokov developed: «There can be no forbidden topics.» What is interesting to students, they show. What is important here is not «what», but «how». They say there are no medicines or poisons: there are different doses. That is, a sense of proportion is important. Everyone has the right to make a mistake, and a creative experiment has the right to exist.« Oleh Zima added: »Unsuccessful jokes mostly happen to beginners. The main thing is to support them, not humiliate them. Then the weak will begin to pull towards strong teams. A vivid example is the group «Strange People», which at first did not differ in quality material, but now have become a generally recognized professional Kyiv theater”.

The following question was also raised: did many participants then go into creativity? «Everyone’s life is different,» Viktor Andrienko answered. «For example, Seryozha Alimov and his three partners are now engaged in creativity. And sometimes they even become engineers. And in general, you can’t become a screenwriter without a technical education!» – the chairman of the jury concluded with a smile. And Vadim Nabokov boasted that he was an energy engineer by education and also an excellent student!

«And now we need shows!» – Viktor Andrienko exclaimed joyfully, thus ending the press conference.

And then the festive gala concert began, where the best (slightly edited) numbers of the participating groups were shown.

The concert ended with a pleasant surprise: as the owners of the nomination for the best choreography, the Laureate of the 1st degree of STEM «IRKA» after the completion of all the performances demonstrated a master class in dancing and the entire hall and backstage supported the initiative of the guys – with great pleasure they danced from small to large to the incendiary motif! Also, our Kostroma friends wholeheartedly invited the Zaporozhians to their place!

ABOUT THE LEADERS:

On March 24, the last music of the international STEM festival «Student Jokes 2013» sounded. The final stage of the festival, which took place at the Dniprospetsstal Cultural Center, brought many pleasant surprises, good and positive emotions. But speaking of the end of the festival, one involuntarily recalls its beginning – organizational moments: the arrival of the teams, rehearsals, competition days and an enchanting gala concert.

On March 19 at 2:25 p.m., a team that won the hearts of many Zaporizhzhia residents first set foot on Ukrainian soil. The Student Miniature Theater «IRKA». The future winners had no idea what awaited them ahead: grueling rehearsals, fun leisure, excursions and preparation for the final battle – the result of which was victory!

But all this would not have been possible if it were not for the support of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Ponomaryov Oleksandr Serhiyovych and the Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration Peklushenko Oleksandr Mykolayovych.

With their direct support, the Trade Union Committee of Students, Postgraduate Students, and Doctoral Students of ZNTU created a base, thanks to which it became possible to partially cover the expenses of the festival participants for the organizers.

In particular, a transfer of guests from the station to the dormitories, free accommodation and meals, and a city tour were organized.

This approach of the festival organizers became the key to good reviews from the participants. In particular, the head of the «Dobrodiya» team, Halyna Yakivna, was simply amazed by the organizational skills, «Not many festivals can offer such conditions as were offered to us by the Technical University. What pleased me most was that your festival is based directly on students, this is a big plus. So recently we participated in the all-Ukrainian festival »Sofiievsky Zory«, and there, all the work on organizing and holding the event is done by teachers, professors and even doctors of science, if you knew how sad it is… In this regard, you are a cut above.»

Being the guide of the winners, I had the opportunity to observe their attitude to the festival, Zaporizhzhia and to our country as a whole. I can only say one thing, there is friendship between peoples, and «Mashynka» proves it every year. A nice surprise was the performance of the Ukrainian anthem by the «IRKA» group. After several rehearsals, the guys spoke Ukrainian much better than the Prime Minister of Ukraine – which in itself cannot but please.

All participants of the festival received honorary awards, certificates and prizes. The winners took home a home theater and several sets of bedding sets, which they used as soon as they got on the train.

In conclusion, we can only traditionally say, «Long live the 16th International Festival of Student Pop Miniatures 2014» and see you next time!
