«Team Interaction: Community Game» – training for first-year psychologists from master’s students of the specialty 053 «Psychology»
In conditions of long-term distance learning during the war in a front-line city, every meeting with our students in a live format is valuable and important! The Department of Psychology has a long-standing tradition of conducting training-acquaintance with first-year students, the purpose of which is to set them up for joint interaction during the acquisition of professional education, form a team of future specialists, and familiarize them with the values of the profession of a psychologist. Despite all the difficulties, this year we managed to come together!
Yes, on November 15, a practical training «Teamwork: Playing in a Community» was held, in which 18 first-year students of the specialty 053 «Psychology» (groups CH-113, CH-123) took part – those who are currently in our city joined.
The goal of the training was to get to know the first-year students and improve the connections between them, develop team interaction skills, unite the group and create a favorable psychological climate in groups for further study. The training was focused on various aspects of student life: from familiarizing first-year students with the areas of activity of a psychologist to developing communication skills and independence. Students learned to work in a team and solve the set goals together, which can become a useful tool for effective learning and functioning of the group as a whole.
The training program included exercises for group interaction, development of communication skills, role-playing of behavior models in various life situations, and exercises with elements of art therapy.
The training for first-year students was conducted by 1st-year master’s students (group CH-113m) – Filonenko Kateryna and Cherednychenko Sofiia. The organization of the training was attended by a lecturer at the Department of Psychology and a 1st-year supervisor – Anastasiia Garmash.
After the training, the participants gave positive feedback about the meeting. They were satisfied with the atmosphere that prevailed during the training and the practical exercises that helped them gain experience in positive and effective interaction in a team, improve their communication skills, and understand the importance of teamwork.
The Department of Psychology plans to continue holding a series of trainings and master classes for our applicants, to involve more and more students in group interaction.
The participation in the event of applicants of specialty 053 «Psychology» was carried out within the framework of the implementation and implementation of the project of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine «Psychosocial support and psychological assistance at all levels of education».
