European standard of living in student dormitories of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic
With the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine, the Volunteer Headquarters of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University was established at our university.
The students’ trade union committee and the administration of the university’s student campus deal with accommodation in five student dormitories of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic of people who were forced to evacuate from temporarily occupied territories and zones of active hostilities. Currently, more than 700 people have found temporary shelter in the hostels. To support them, in October 2022, work was started with the Czech humanitarian organization «People in Need»
As a result, with the financial support of the European Union and in partnership with the «Man in Need» organization, comprehensive construction work began in November in dormitory No. 3 on the installation of modern energy-saving windows in the number of 27 units in common areas (kitchens, stairwells, corridors) and in the number of 20 units in the living rooms of the dormitory residents.
Also, in dormitory #3, renovation work has started in the common shower rooms, many of which have already been completed: new tiles have been laid, new dividing walls between the cubicles have been installed, the room has been equipped with new lamps, all plumbing fixtures have been replaced and faucets have been updated.
Works on arranging and improving living conditions in the student dormitories of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University continue.
