March 9 — Taras Shevchenko’s birthday
March 9 is a special date for Ukrainians – the birthday of Kobzar – Taras Shevchenko.
Today this day takes on a special meaning. After all, the words «Fight – you will win.» God help you! For you is the truth, for you is the glory and holy will!« — the future that was written about in the past.
Student self-government of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic organized a literary evening »Thoughts of Shevchenko”.
Students read the writer’s favorite works, discussed how his work changed the attitude towards the Ukrainian language.
During the meeting, the topic of national consciousness of Ukrainians through the prism of Shevchenko’s works was also touched upon.
