Meeting with students of the general director of JSC «Zaporizhstal»
On December 13, 2012, a meeting was held at Zaporizhzhia National Technical University with the general director of JSC «Zaporizhstal» Rostyslav Shurma, with the participation of representatives of the trade union committee of students of ZNTU and the Zaporizhzhia Regional Youth Council headed by its chairman Andriy Ivanchenko. The conversation took place in the format of «questions and answers».
Rostislav Shurma told about his university studies – – My basic education – life experience. How much knowledge did I gain while studying at the university? Very often I want to answer – five percent. But this is a wrong idea. Higher education – basic foundation. If we have it – we don’t feel it, and when it is absent – that’s when its lack becomes apparent. He shared the secrets of success in business, in particular about achieving the high position of general director of a leading industrial enterprise in the region – «I never had a goal to take the position of head of the Zaporizhstal plant.» Ten years ago, I only heard about it a few times. I believe that it is necessary to build a clear plan for yourself of what you want to achieve in life and be ready to make sacrifices. He summed up his monologue with the phrase «Everyone has the chance to become successful, you just need to want it and make an effort.»
