Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic is moving towards barrier-free!
On April 25, vice-rector of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University Andriy Ivanchenko took part in the round table “Student support centers: joint solutions for equal opportunities”, which took place on the basis of the West Ukrainian National University in the city of Ternopil.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine as part of the implementation of the National Strategy for the Creation of a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine by 2030 and the flagship project “Educational Accessibility: Opening New Horizons”.
The participants were welcomed by the adviser to the President of Ukraine on barrier-free issues Tetyana Lomakina, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Andrii Vitrenko, representative of the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the CMU Anastasiya Holotenko, Deputy Head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration Pavlo Zhurba, Ternopil Mayor Serhii Nadal and the rector Oksana Desyatnik of the Western Ukrainian National University.
During the panel discussion, the experience of creating Student Support Centers was discussed and the first results of pilot projects were presented. Representatives of Western Ukrainian National University, Uman State Pedagogical University named after Pavlo Tychyna, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Ukrainian Catholic University, Mariupol State University shared their achievements and visions of development.
In the offline mode, the participants visited the resilience center, the immersive multifunctional hub and the student support center of the West Ukrainian National University, got acquainted with the methods of organizing their work with applicants with special educational needs.
It was also nice to see the results of the implementation of the joint project “WORK4CE”, the grantholder of which is the Zaporizhia Polytechnic.
Zaporizhia Polytechnic continues to actively implement the principles of barrier-free education in the educational space. Together we are building a Ukraine of opportunities for everyone!
