Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic is participating in a large-scale European project on the digital transformation of management in universities!
Zaporizka Polytechnic National University became one of the partners of the international consortium implementing the SEDWU project — Scalable Electronic Document Workflow for Universities: Enhancing Efficiency, Autonomy and European Integration.
The project received funding within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA2 program «Development of the potential of higher education», the results of which were announced on July 15, 2025 by the European Executive Agency for Education and Culture (EACEA).
SEDWU is a joint initiative of Ukrainian and European universities aimed at creating a scalable, adaptive and secure electronic document management system for higher education institutions.
The main goal of the project is to digitize the document flow. Among other goals:
— to optimize management processes in universities
— to increase the transparency and efficiency of administrative procedures
— to strengthen cyber security and protection of personal data
— to ensure compatibility with European standards of document management and digital governance
— to promote the integration of Ukraine into the European Higher Education Area
Digitalization of management in institutions of higher education is the need of the hour, especially in times of war and the need for remote administration. The SEDWU project will help universities:
— reduce dependence on paper document circulation (in accordance with the principles of the «Green Deal»)
— improve interaction between faculties and administrative units;
— ensure compliance with European law
— contribute to the fight against corruption through transparency of procedures
Participation of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic in the SEDWU project is:
— the opportunity to pilot the SEDWU system on its own base
— implementation of modern digital management tools
— increasing the level of data protection and cyber security
— optimization of administrative processes and reduction of time for making management decisions
— development of employee competencies in the field of digital governance
— the contribution of the university to the formation of the national strategy of digital management in educational institutions
— increasing the readiness of the university to work in the conditions of European integration, in particular compliance with the principles of the Bologna process and the European area of higher education
The coordinator of the project from the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic is Ruslan Kulikovskyi, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work and issues of perspective development.
The project unites 11 partners from Ukraine, Lithuania, Poland and Germany. SEDWU project consortium: Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (project coordinator), Vytautas the Great University (Lithuania), Ignatius Lukashevich Ryasiv Polytechnic University (Poland), Bayreuth University (Germany), National University of Water Management and Environmental Management, Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, Chernihiv Polytechnic National University, Yuri Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University, Kryvyi Rih National University, State Tax University, Association «Lviv Cluster of IT and Business Services» is a partner that will ensure the involvement of IT expertise and help in the practical implementation of digital solutions.
The duration of the project is 3 years.
The SEDWU project will be a significant contribution to the processes of digital transformation of Ukrainian higher education, will create new opportunities for cooperation and will become an example of effective interaction between universities and the IT industry and European partners.
