Confident struggle on the world stage!
On October 24-30, the World Taekwondo Championship (WTF) was held in the Chinese city of Wuxi, one of the most prestigious events in the world of sports.
Ukraine was well represented at the tournament by Maksym Manenkov, a student of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, Department of Physical Culture, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports (UFKS-413), athlete of the Zaporizhia Regional Sports Academy, master of sports of Ukraine of international class, who competed in the weight category up to 58 kg.
Our athlete demonstrated a high level of technique, endurance and strength of character, winning three vivid victories over opponents from different countries of the world. Maxim met with the current world champion from Iran in a tense match for a place in the semi-finals. Despite a decent resistance, he conceded only a few points and finished the competition in fifth place, confirming his status among the world’s taekwondo elite.
