Series of events dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine
On October 1, students, teachers and employees of the Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic took part in various events dedicated to the Day of Defenders of Ukraine. We started this day with the daily All-Ukrainian minute of silence, with which we honor the brave Ukrainians who laid down their lives for the defense of the Motherland.
The Museum of the History of Technical Progress of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic National University, together with the Zaporizhia Regional Art Museum, opened an exhibition of paintings by Volodymyr Gordiychenko, a university teacher, a participant in hostilities, and a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
A special event of this day was the meeting with Mykola Georgiyovych Bilenko, our defender, former director of regional television. The event, organized by the Department of Ukrainian Studies and General Language Training, turned into a sincere and frank dialogue about life, in which war and patriotism, dreams and trials, support and faith were intertwined. Students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Construction, Architecture and Design joined this meeting to emphasize once again: it is our duty to always remember the brave defenders of Ukraine who gave their lives in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state.
In the “FREETIME” youth hub, the student self-government and the students’ union committee organized a movie night – they watched the Ukrainian film “Shchedrik” by Olesya Morgunets-Isayenko, a historical drama set during the Second World War. The world-famous “Shchedryk” by Mykola Leontovych becomes a symbol of stability and hope for the heroes – a melody that echoes through trials and reminds of the unity, humanity and strength of Ukrainian culture. This is a film about survival, faith and perseverance in times when life itself becomes a test.
The scientific library of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic National University has prepared a virtual exhibition “In defense of the native land” so that everyone can participate from any corner of the world. On the occasion of the 125th anniversary, Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University announces a large charity collection. All collected funds will be directed to help the defenders defending the Zaporozhye direction.
