Training "Media literacy for journalists and bloggers: 5 steps to a high level of media culture"
On April 22, Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University hosted the training “Media literacy for journalists and bloggers: 5 steps to a high level of media culture”, where students of the Faculty of Social Sciences took steps together towards media awareness.
Five practical steps — and each of the participants learned:
— recognize dangerous content
— look for socially responsible sources, verify information and filter out fakes
— avoid information isolation: get out of your own information bubbles
And also a media challenge: students played educational games, held a real trial over artificial intelligence, discussed, analyzed, created. And at the end, they presented their own media recommendations for creating high-quality visual content for media and blogs.
The event took place within the framework of the project “Together We Can” of the Program of Empowerment for Public Leaders in Ukraine, which is implemented by the NGO “Social Interaction” in cooperation with the NGO “Human Rights Foundation” (Kyiv) with the support of the Institute of Foreign Cultural Relations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Media is not just news, it is responsibility for every photo and word! together we improve our media literacy, media awareness and critical thinking.
