Synergy of science and industry within the framework of the international project ERASMUS+ BIOART
A special feature of the implementation of the international educational project “Innovative multidisciplinary educational program for the training of bachelors and masters in artificial implants for bioengineering” (BIOART) is close cooperation with PJSC Motor Sich and the Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology named after E. Sitenka of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine (Kharkiv). That is why the representatives of ZNTU, coordinator of the BIOART project, professor of the department of software tools G.V. Tabunshchik and associate professor of software tools A.V. Parkhomenko took part in the International Conference “Advanced Methods of Treatment of Pathology of the Hip and Knee Joints” (April 25-26, 2019, Kharkiv, http://conference-orthopaedics.com/ua/).
In the framework of the conference, reports of specialists from all over the world were presented – Ukraine, Greece, Israel, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, etc. Scientists, doctors, representatives of manufacturing companies talked about modern trends in the design and use of artificial implants and prostheses. The products of PJSC Motor Sich, which meet the requirements of world standards and are in great demand on the market, attracted considerable interest. The representative of the clinic Motor Sich V.M. Black and company representative S.Yu. Tsotsorin, who took part in the work of the conference, actively support the BIOART project and cooperate with its executors.
Representatives of all partner universities of Ukraine, project coordinator David Luengo from Madrid Polytechnic (Spain), as well as Kathleen Denise, representative of the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) gathered to participate in the project meeting.
According to the program prepared by representatives of the Institute named after E. Sitenka, BIOART project executors attended symposia and workshops on the program of the international conference, and also studied the experience of developing materials and technologies for artificial implants on the basis of the National Scientific Center “Kharkiv Physical and Technical Institute”, the State Scientific Institution “Institute of Single Crystals” of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Research Institute of Refractories named after A.S. Berezhny, laboratories of the Institute of Spine and Joint Pathology named after E. Sitenka.
Representatives of all partner universities of Ukraine, as well as the project coordinator David Luengo, presented reports on the current results and further tasks of the project at the meeting of the BIOART project executors. During the discussions, the results for one and a half years of the implementation of the project, the problems of purchasing equipment for the BIONIC laboratory, as well as the preparation of an interim report for the European Commission were discussed.
