Huawei Student Tech Challenge–2025 competition launched with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science

On October 7, the Huawei Ukraine company officially opened the Student Tech Challenge–2025 national competition — an educational initiative aimed at developing young technical talents in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT). The event is being held for the second year in a row, this year with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES).

The opening ceremony took place at Huawei’s Kyiv office in a hybrid format: representatives of the country’s leading technical universities from Kyiv were present offline. Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Culture, National University “Zaporizhia Polytechnic” and 120 participating students from all over Ukraine joined online. Among others, Serhii Shilo, the first vice-rector of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University, addressed the participants and partners with a welcome speech. He wished everyone good luck, success, fruitful communication and inspiration in future endeavors.

About 190 students and 46 teams from the 20 best institutions of higher technical education, including 14 regional universities, are taking part in the competition. Teams will compete in four areas: “Radio access network planning” (11 teams), “Datacom engineering” (15), “Transport network engineering” (10) and “Digital energy” (10). Students from Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Lutsk, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, Odesa and other cities joined the competition.

3 teams from the Faculty of Information Security and Electronic Communications and 1 team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering will represent Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic at the competition, according to the directions of the competition.

This year, participants will have a unique opportunity to test their own radio-electronic solutions at a special training ground, where a 5G test zone will be deployed as part of the phased deployment of fifth-generation networks in Ukraine. During pitching, the teams will present the solutions worked out under the guidance of mentors, and based on the overall results, the jury members will determine the winners in each category.

The closing ceremony of the competition and the awarding of the winners will take place on November 14 in Kyiv. And the best participants of the Student Tech Challenge–2025 will receive an internship opportunity at Huawei Ukraine with the prospect of employment.

We wish success to our teams! We believe in your victory!
