Panel discussion "The Olympic Path: From Victories to Mission"
On October 14, a unique panel discussion “Olympic Path: From Victory to Mission” dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the university took place in the educational hub of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University. The discussion brought together more than 160 participants in online and offline format.
The participants were greeted by people who develop the sports sphere of our region: the rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, the head of the Detached Division of the All-Ukrainian public organization “Sports Student Union of Ukraine” in the Zaporizhia region, Viktor Greshta, the head of the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of ZODA, Oleksandr Zlobenets, the head of the Zaporizhia regional branch of the NOC of Ukraine, Nataliya Vlasova, and the head of the Zaporizhia Olympic branch of the Academy of Ukraine Halyna Kruzhilo.
Sport is a means of unity, rehabilitation and strengthening of spirit. It is an inseparable part of the philosophy and DNA of our university. We are grateful to the stellar cast of Olympians who sincerely shared their stories and inspired young people to new achievements! Among them: Olympic champion in gymnastics Olga Strazheva, bronze medalist of the 2000 Olympics Anna Sorokina, bronze medalist of the 2000 Olympic Games in diving Olena Zhupina, bronze medalist of the 2004 Olympics Oksana Rykhel, honored coach of Ukraine Tetyana Turova, Olympic champion in handball Serhiy Kushniruk and Olympic medalist from of athletics Olesya Povkh.
All honorary Olympians received commemorative gifts from Zaporizhia Polytechnic University and the Zaporizhia Regional Branch of the NOC of Ukraine. And the most active participants in the discussion, who asked the most interesting questions, were honored with special presentations from the NOC of Ukraine.

The event was held on the initiative of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Management, in partnership with the Zaporizhzhia Regional Branch of the NOC of Ukraine and the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the ZODA, with the support of the students’ trade union committee and student self-government of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic.
