International Day of Remembrance of the Chernobyl Disaster
April 26 is a day that changed the course of history. The day when the world learned the value of human error and the greatness of human courage. Day of remembrance and great responsibility.
We honor everyone who stopped the invisible enemy – radiation, who chose duty and paid with their health and even their lives. Firemen, doctors, engineers, scientists, military. They are an example of indomitability, sacrifice and true heroism.
We bow our heads in gratitude to all the liquidators. We remember the dead.
Many years have passed, but Chernobyl is not in the past. In 2022, Russian troops captured the Chernobyl zone, and later the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Now we face radiation terrorism on a daily basis: armed men on the territory of the nuclear facility, mining, de-energization of power units, bullying of ZNPP personnel. The world is on the brink again – and this time the threat is deliberately created.
We remind again and again, atomic energy cannot be a hostage, and radiation cannot become a weapon against humanity!
