Memorial event "Revolution on Granite"
As part of the campaign, the youth of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic remembered the students who participated in the “Revolution on Granite” 35 years ago.
The action is dedicated to the events of October 1990, when students went to the central square of Kyiv for a peaceful protest against the current government. This non-violent action became the first large-scale student strike in almost independent Ukraine and went down in history as an important part of the struggle for democracy and the independence of the state.
In the “FREETIME” Youth Hub, a symbolic space of memory was created – an arch on which students placed origami tents with inscriptions and messages “What would I stand for today”. The installation is a kind of reminder for us that the voice of youth always has power, and today it sounds even louder.
