Educational process using a student-centered approach, problem-oriented learning, which is carried out in the form of lectures, laboratory work, practical classes, consultations, independent work on solving problems and tasks using blended and distance learning technologies in separate educational components (Moodle, Zoom, Classroom platforms); project implementation, preparation of bachelor’s qualification work. Teaching is carried out in the state language.

Exams, tests, credits, laboratory reports and reports on practical work, tests, course projects, course papers, presentations, current control, qualifying bachelor’s work. Assessment is carried out on two scales: national (excellent, good, satisfactory, unsatisfactory), 100-point ECTS. Positive grades for all forms of control are grades from 60 to 100 points on a 100-point scale and a grade of «passed» on a two-point scale. The limit of unsatisfactory learning according to the results of the final control is a score below 60 points on a 100-point scale or a score of «not passed» on a two-point scale.

Receiving a score of 60 points and above implies receiving positive grades in all mandatory types of current control defined by the educational component curriculum.

Methods for assessing learning outcomes for individual educational components are developed and implemented in accordance with the «Regulations on the Organization of the Educational Process at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University» (enacted by the order of the rector dated April 04, 2025 No. 147) and are reflected in the work programs and syllabi of the relevant educational components.

In accordance with the «Regulations on the Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Training of Higher Education Applicants». The main staff of teachers involved in teaching the educational program consists of the teaching staff of the Department of Automobiles, Heat Engines and Hybrid Power Plants. Bachelors are trained by doctors of sciences, professors, candidates of sciences, associate professors (76%), senior lecturers (24%), who meet the licensing conditions for conducting educational activities and have experience in scientific, pedagogical and practical work.

The teaching of individual educational components of the educational program and their parts involves the involvement of practitioners and competent experts in the industry.

In accordance with the technological requirements for educational, methodological and information support of educational activities of the corresponding higher level. Educational and laboratory facilities, modern computer equipment and software allow organizing and conducting classes in all academic disciplines at a sufficient level. The general infrastructure of the university includes educational buildings with specialized and subject auditoriums, cafeterias, a sports and recreation complex, dormitories.

The laboratory and practical parts of the educational program are provided by: subject and specialized auditoriums; specialized laboratories, in which operating ship and automobile internal combustion engines of various capacities and purposes are installed; training laboratories of internal combustion engine units and devices, internal combustion engine fuel equipment, internal combustion engine designs, which house stands for testing internal combustion engines.

To carry out scientific research work, the laboratory houses stands for studying working processes in internal combustion engines and stands for the production, research and use of alternative fuels in internal combustion engines.

In accordance with the requirements of the License Terms, the implementation of educational activities includes library resources, the website of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, and department website, which contains basic information about educational activities under the OP.

Access to educational and methodological materials is also provided through the university-wide centralized platform https://moodle.zp.edu.ua/ and https://portal.zp.edu.ua.

The methodological material for the educational program is periodically updated and adapted taking into account the goals of the educational program, the needs of stakeholders and current trends in the development of the mechanical engineering industry.

It is carried out on the basis of cooperation agreements between the University and higher education institutions of Ukraine. The certification of higher education applicants for the educational and professional program «Internal Combustion Engines» is carried out in the form of a qualification work, public defense of a bachelor’s thesis (diploma project)

The qualification work must involve solving a complex specialized task or a practical problem of industry mechanical engineering, characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions, using theories and methods of mechanical engineering.

The qualification work must not contain academic plagiarism, fabrication, falsification.

The qualification work must be published in the repository of NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» in accordance with «Regulations of the National Repository of Academic Texts».
