Meet Kateryna Yushchenko, the daughter of the “enemy of the people”, who managed to become a pioneer in programming and write her name in the history of world science!
On October 28, a lecture-presentation dedicated to an outstanding Ukrainian woman was held in the Scientific Library of the university. The speaker was Larisa Deinega, a senior lecturer at the Department of Software Tools. She talked about the life and scientific path of Kateryna Yushchenko, emphasizing how her Addressable Language made programming closer to human thinking.
The guests of the event learned about Ms. Kateryna’s difficult but inspiring path to success, her numerous discoveries, her students, and the world’s first programming textbooks created under her guidance.
Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Socio-Economic Development and Youth Policy Andrii Ivanchenko emphasized that the Ukrainian intellect has always been and remains the driving force of progress, and the story of Kateryna Yushchenko is a vivid proof of this. He called on young people to study more deeply the biographies and achievements of outstanding Ukrainian scientists.
The scientific library has prepared a book exhibition “Fundamentals of programming and its application”. The head of the library sector, Nataliya Fedko, introduced the audience to modern sources, the authors of which continue the work of an outstanding scientist.
