Representatives of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic at the event "Universities in the ecosystem "How are you?""
On March 31, Viktor Greshta, Rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, Andriy Ivanchenko, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Socio-Economic Development and Youth Policy, and Viktoriya Pelivanova, Head of Student Self-Government of the Faculty of Social Sciences, took part in the event “Universities in the Ecosystem “How are you?”, held at the Kyiv School of Economics.
The event was opened by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, emphasizing the importance of implementing systemic support for mental health in the field of education.
Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Andriy Vitrenko also spoke, who emphasized the need to integrate mental health programs into higher education institutions.
During the event, the presentation “3D ecosystem “How are you?”: the role and place of universities in it” was presented, which outlined the concept of integrating higher education institutions into the system of supporting students’ mental health.
Special attention was paid to the connection between mental health and the economy, which was reported by Doctor of Economic Sciences Andrii Dligach.
Participants of the event also joined the panel discussion, during which the role of higher education institutions in the formation of a culture of psychological stability was discussed, and the work of the Psychological Service of the National University “Zaporizka Polytechnic” was also presented. The main areas of activity of the service were demonstrated, including trainings, individual consultations and group classes for students.
The second part of the event included a presentation of UNICEF research on Ukrainians’ perceptions of mental health, a lecture by Natalia Kryvda on collective trauma and cultural memory, as well as a practical workshop on the design of solutions to create a new culture of coping strategies.
During the event, the importance of further development of initiatives aimed at supporting the mental health of students and the integration of such programs into the education system of our country was noted.
