International recognition: Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University was included in the prestigious international ranking Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 for the first time.
Times Higher Education Sustainability Impact Ratings assesses the activities of universities based on their contribution to achieving the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. When forming the rating, not only scientific achievements are taken into account, but also the real results of the educational institution’s activities: the quality of the educational process, social responsibility, support for inclusion and equal opportunities, effective resource management, interaction with communities, business and international partners. Such a comprehensive approach allows us to reflect the academic potential of the educational institution, its contribution to social change and the implementation of the principles of sustainable development.
This is a significant event for our university, because participation in an international rating of this level is not only evidence of the presence of Zaporizhia Polytechnic in the global educational space, but also recognition of the consistent work of the team in the fields of education, science, innovation and the implementation of the principles of sustainable development. This confirms that the activities of the university community, aimed at supporting students, expanding cooperation and implementing modern educational and scientific practices, are important both for the region and for the international academic community.
This achievement acquires particular importance in the conditions of front-line Zaporizhzhia. Today, sustainable development for Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic is a strategic guideline and at the same time a daily response to the challenges of wartime. This is hard work to ensure the continuity of the educational process, strengthen scientific potential, create opportunities for young people, implement innovative solutions and form a sustainable university community capable of operating effectively in conditions of change and uncertainty.
Among the key areas of the university’s activity are the development of engineering education, digital transformation, energy efficiency, innovative infrastructure, international cooperation, academic integrity and an inclusive educational environment. An important component of this work remains partnership with business, government bodies and territorial communities to train specialists who can actively participate in the restoration and sustainable development of Ukraine.
