“Chernobyl – 40: Memory that unites generations”
The Scientific Library, together with the Department of Ukrainian Studies and General Language Training of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, invites you to join the hour of memory and reflection dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy.
Together we will honor the feat of the liquidators, discuss the lessons of the past in order to preserve the memory of these events for future generations.

The program includes:
– speeches by historians from the Department of Ukrainian Studies and General Language Training of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, Professor Georgy Shapovalov and Associate Professor Volodymyr Chop
– memoirs of participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident
– research and presentations by students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic and Zaporizhzhia Humanitarian Vocational College
– speech by Zaporizhzhia writer Tetyana Tikhovskaya
– viewing of documentary video materials
– book exhibition of the Scientific Library “Chernobyl – a long trail tragedies”
The event will be moderated by Nataliya Fedko, Head of the Scientific Library Sector of Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University.
Chernobyl has no past tense. We invite all interested parties to join the joint conversation about our history, responsibility and future!
