The dormitory was built in 1986. It is a nine-story brick building of the corridor-section type, designed to accommodate 511 residents. Each floor has two sections, each consisting of twelve units with double and triple rooms. One unit consists of two living rooms, a hallway, and a bathroom, which includes a toilet, a washroom, and a shower.
Each section has a kitchen and a drying room with access to a balcony. The second floor houses premium-comfort units intended for temporary accommodation of part-time students during exam periods, as well as staff from educational institutions who are on business trips.
To maintain proper living conditions in the dormitory, routine maintenance work is carried out on a regular basis: roof repairs, cosmetic renovations of floors and building sections, and replacement of windows and balcony doors in hallways, kitchens, drying rooms, and stairwells.
The premises are gradually being equipped with new appliances—electric stoves, refrigerators, heaters, and water heaters—and the furniture in the kitchens and living quarters is being updated. For the residents’ convenience, two washing machines have been installed on the utility floor, which operate 24 hours a day.
Rooms are provided to out-of-town students, as well as to student families in which one or both spouses are out-of-town students. In exceptional cases, rooms may be provided to university staff. Since the start of the Russian Federation’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, some dormitory spots have also been allocated to internally displaced persons in need of temporary housing.
Dormitory accommodation is provided in accordance with the Regulations on Student Dormitories and the Internal Rules of the National University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic.”
