A view of the dormitory
The dormitory can be reached by all forms of transport: tram, trolleybus and minibus. The dormitory is very conveniently located, with a variety of shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, the ‘Zaporizhzhia 2’ railway station and so on nearby. It is approximately 300 metres from the main university building.
The dormitory, built in 1963, is a five-storey building with a corridor layout, featuring two shared bathrooms on each floor and a communal shower area for the entire dormitory (separate facilities for men and women). There are 148 rooms designated for accommodation, with a total of 440 beds.
As part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment in Ukraine, an action plan for its implementation for 2023–2024 has been approved, under which dormitory No. 2 has been equipped with barrier-free access facilities. A vertical lift has been installed to ensure architectural accessibility to the building and the halls of residence for people with reduced mobility. This is another step towards creating suitable conditions for students with special educational needs. According to the results of the technical survey, the building and premises of dormitory No. 2 provide accessibility for people with disabilities in accordance with current Ukrainian legislation, as confirmed by the relevant expert opinion (PDF, 696 KB)

The dormitory staff includes: a director, a passport officer, a housekeeper, four doormen (working in shifts), cleaning staff, a janitor, an electrician, and a plumber.
To prevent violations of dormitory rules, theft, fights, and damage to personal property and dormitory property, turnstiles were purchased, installed, and put into operation, and video surveillance equipment was installed, all of which are currently functioning successfully. Each dormitory resident has been issued an access card bearing their last name, first name, patronymic, academic group number, and the room number where the student resides. All residents have been warned of the possible consequences (eviction from the dormitory) if they transfer their access card to others.
