5-day seminar "Roma Memory Hub" from the youth organization "KYRS: Kherson Youth Roma Society"

During April 20–25, representatives of the student self-government unit “International Union” of Zaporizhia Polytechnic University took part in the 5-day seminar “Roma Memory Hub” from the youth organization “KYRS: Kherson Youth Roma Society” in the city of Odesa.

The event was dedicated to the topic of genocides of peoples during World War II, in particular the tragedy of the Roma people. During the seminar, students explored issues of historical memory, history and human rights, discussed the importance of recognizing and understanding these events in the modern context.

The participants worked in groups, participated in workshops, analyzed historical sources, documents and interviews, and also visited an exhibition dedicated to genocides of peoples of the world. In addition, the students developed their own initiative, which they will have the opportunity to implement with the support of KYRS.

And, of course, everyone really felt the atmosphere of Odessa!
