Materials Science and Heat Treatment of Metals is an educational and professional master’s program for those who seek to deeply study modern materials, technologies for their creation, processing and improvement. The program trains specialists who are able to solve complex engineering and research problems, design new materials and technological processes, as well as introduce innovations in production in the conditions of constant industrial development.
During their studies, students master the regularities of the formation of the structure and properties of metallic, non-metallic, composite and functional materials, modern methods of physical and mathematical modeling, technologies of heat treatment of metals, methods of experimental research and quality control. Considerable attention is paid to the design of new materials, the analysis of their operational characteristics, testing, assessment of the technical and economic efficiency of technological processes and the application of the principles of sustainable development.
The educational process combines fundamental engineering training with practical work in specialized laboratories of metallography, mechanical testing and heat treatment. Students gain experience in using modern analytical equipment, specialized software, perform experimental research, undergo pre-graduate practice and work on their own engineering projects.
Training takes place at the Faculty of Engineering and Physics with the involvement of experienced scientific and pedagogical staff and specialists from partner enterprises.
