To contribute to the development of the Ukrainian state and society, the Southeastern region of Ukraine and the Zaporizhzhia region by training competent specialists capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of software engineering, through the implementation of the following goals: – to train specialists who possess conceptual scientific and practical knowledge, critically reflect on the theories and methods of software engineering, are capable of forming judgments that take into account social and ethical and legal aspects, and are ready to apply their skills to develop the digital environment of Ukraine and the Zaporizhzhia region. – to ensure that applicants master advanced cognitive and practical skills necessary for software development. To integrate relevant methods for solving complex software engineering tasks into training, adhering to the standards of academic integrity and the principles of student-centered learning. – to support the personal and professional development of higher education applicants by forming the ability to communicate on professional issues (including in a foreign language). To provide the opportunity to build individual educational trajectories that develop the ability to continue learning with a significant degree of autonomy, using the possibilities of academic mobility and modern distance technologies. – to involve applicants in managing complex technical or professional activities or projects for the development and use of software in cooperation with enterprises and institutions. To develop the ability to bear responsibility for making and making decisions in unpredictable contexts, contributing to solving applied problems of software engineering for the sustainable development of the state and the Zaporizhzhia region.

Student-centered and problem-oriented learning, project work, independent work

Semester exams and tests, defense of a coursework (project), defense of a practice report, public defense of a qualification work. Assessment of academic achievements of higher education applicants is carried out on a 100-point scale or on a two-point scale (passed / not passed). Positive grades for all forms of control are grades from 60 to 100 points on a 100-point scale and a grade of «passed» on a two-point scale. The limit of unsatisfactory learning according to the results of the final control is a grade below 60 points on a 100-point scale or a grade of «not passed» on a two-point scale. Obtaining a grade of 60 points and above implies obtaining positive grades for all mandatory types of current control specified by the educational component curriculum.

Scientific and pedagogical workers who provide the educational process in the specialty have more than two years of experience in scientific and pedagogical activities and a level of scientific and professional activity that meets the Licensing Conditions for the Conduct of Educational Activities. All teachers who provide the educational components of professional training are qualified in accordance with the specialty. Teachers who provide the educational process in the specialty actively cooperate with leading foreign and Ukrainian universities within the framework of international educational programs, constantly participate in international scientific conferences, seminars and symposiums both in Ukraine and abroad. In recent years, the teachers of the Department of Software Tools have participated in the implementation of the following international projects of the Tempus program of the European Union: DESIRE (2013-2016) «Development of courses on embedded systems using innovative virtual approaches for the integration of science, education and industry in Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia» (544091-TEMPUS-1-2013-1- BE-TEMPUS-JPCR), CERES (2013- 2016) «Centers of Excellence for Young Scientists» (544137-TEMPUS-1- 2013-1-SK-TEMPUS-JPHES), Erasmus+ programs of the European Union: ALIOT (2016-2019) «Internet of Things: a new curriculum for the needs of industry and society» (573818- EPP-1-2016-1-UK-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), BIOART (2017-2021) «Innovative multidisciplinary curriculum for the training of bachelors and masters in artificial implants for bioengineering» (586114-EPP-1-2017-1- ES-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), WORK4CE (2020-2023) «Cross-domain competencies for ensuring healthy and safe work in the 21st century» (619034-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), the programs of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD VIMACS (Virtual Master Cooperation Data Science) and EU-VIMUK (EuroPIM Virtual Master School Ukraine). During the implementation of the Tempus, Erasmus+ and DAAD projects, teachers providing the educational process underwent advanced training and internships at leading foreign and Ukrainian universities, published joint scientific and educational and methodological materials together with foreign colleagues.

The university complies with the technological requirements of the Licensing Conditions for Educational Activities. The general infrastructure of the university includes educational buildings with specialized and subject auditoriums, cafeterias, a sports and recreation complex, and dormitories. To implement the educational program, the Department of Software has two lecture halls and seven computer laboratories and classes equipped with modern computing equipment and peripheral devices and equipment. The educational halls and laboratories and classes are fully equipped with multimedia equipment, as well as air conditioners. All computer equipment is connected to the Internet, and wireless access to this network is also provided. For general education disciplines, lecture halls and laboratories of the relevant general departments that have the necessary equipment are used. Higher education applicants who need it are provided with a dormitory.
