Monitoring and control information systems

The program is focused on developing in students knowledge and practical skills in building automated measurement systems based on industrial controllers and intelligent relays, applying methods for metrological assurance of measurement accuracy, and developing software for processing measurement information. Considerable attention is paid to quality management systems, standardization, certification, and technical diagnostics, as well as processes and technologies of the Industry 4.0 concept.

Students master the principles of building information and measuring equipment, circuit design of analog and digital signal processing devices, microprocessor technology, intelligent sensor systems, and elements of mechatronics and robotics. Practical training is carried out in specialized laboratories of electrical, magnetic and non-electrical measurements, micro- and nanoelectronics, as well as in modern spaces of TechnoHub and FabLab Robotics.

The training combines lectures, laboratory work, course design, dual and distance education, as well as practice at specialized enterprises. Applicants have the opportunity for academic and international mobility within the framework of cooperation agreements with foreign higher education institutions.

Graduates acquire competencies in the design of measuring instruments, testing, verification and calibration, metrological support of technological processes, as well as organizing independent control of product compliance with established requirements.

Specialists of this program are in demand as metrological engineers, quality control engineers, developers of automation and monitoring systems, certification and standardization specialists at industrial enterprises, metrological centers, quality control laboratories and scientific institutions.

Program Profile

Object of activity:

Technical, software, mathematical, information, methodological and other support for information measurement technology, principles of construction of measuring instruments and their use, principles and methods of reproducing reference values, standard samples.
Theoretical content:

Concepts and principles of metrology and information measurement technology, construction of automated measurement, monitoring and control systems, metrological activities, principles of standardization, certification, quality management.
Methods and technologies:

Measurement methods, methods of their construction, information technologies in the creation of automated measurement, monitoring and control systems, methods of planning experiments/measurements, software for monitoring and processing measurement results, quality management in production, other scientific methodologies.
Tools and equipment:

modern means of automation of measurement, monitoring and control, metrological and other equipment necessary for the manufacture, adjustment, testing of measuring instruments, laboratory research and performance of work related to metrological activities.

training specialists capable of comprehensively solving complex problems of developing and using computerized measurement, monitoring and control systems, building quality systems, using information technologies to automate measurements, monitoring and control, automate activities when performing organizational and technical work, analyzing measurement results and other applied research in the field of automation, metrology, quality systems, standardization and certification.

Teaching and Assessment

Lectures, practical classes, laboratory work, completing individual tasks, coursework and projects, independent work, internships at specialized enterprises, dual and distance education, consultations with teachers, preparation of qualification work.

Formative (current control): testing of knowledge or skills; reports on laboratory and practical work; reports on internships; literature review, presentations, etc.

Summative (final control): exam (written with subsequent oral interview); test (possibility based on the results of formative control); defense of qualification work.

Resource Provision

Scientific and pedagogical workers involved in teaching professionally oriented disciplines have scientific degrees and/or academic titles and meet the requirements specified in the Licensing Conditions for Educational Activities. Other university departments and practicing professionals are also involved in teaching disciplines.

Teaching and research (practice, graduation) are carried out in educational laboratories, in particular, in a computer class and with the involvement of enterprise equipment. The material and technical support meets the requirements of the Licensing Conditions for the implementation of educational activities, including specialized training laboratories (TechnoHub, FabLab Robotics), laboratories for electrical and magnetic measurements, non-electrical measurements, micro- and nanoelectronics, microprocessor technology, quality and standardization, etc.

In accordance with the requirements of the Licensing Conditions for the implementation of educational activities, it includes library resources, electronic learning resources (Moodle distance learning system), the website of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, the website and telegram channel of the Department of MeNE, which contain basic information about educational activities.

Attestation

The certification of higher education graduates is carried out in the form of a public defense of the qualification work. Higher education graduates and other persons present at the certification are free to make audio and/or video recordings of the certification process.
