IT management

IT Management is a modern interdisciplinary educational and professional program that combines knowledge in the field of management and information technology. It is designed for those who seek not only to understand the principles of business management, but also to effectively apply digital technologies for the development of organizations, the creation of innovative products and the adoption of sound management decisions in the digital economy.

During their studies, students master modern approaches to managing digital products, IT projects and business processes, study information systems and technologies, data analytics and artificial intelligence tools. The program develops the ability to work with complex professional tasks, analyze large amounts of information, make decisions in conditions of uncertainty and rapid technological change, as well as effectively organize the activities of teams and enterprises in a digital environment.

The educational process combines fundamental training with practice-oriented learning, which allows applicants to develop managerial, analytical, and digital competencies. Significant attention is paid to the use of modern information technologies, the development of critical thinking, teamwork skills and the ability to introduce innovations into the activities of organizations.

Graduates of the program receive the qualification Bachelor of Management (IT Management) and can realize themselves in IT companies, business structures, government agencies and technology startups. Thanks to the combination of management knowledge with digital competencies, they become sought-after specialists capable of managing digital transformation, coordinating IT projects, implementing modern information systems and promoting business development in conditions of rapid technological progress.

    general scientific and specific methods research (computational and analytical, economic and statistical, economic and mathematical, expert evaluation, factual, sociological, documentary, balance sheet); methods of implementing management functions (methods of marketing research, economic diagnostics, forecasting and planning, motivation, control, assessment of social, organizational and economic efficiency); management methods (administrative, economic, socio-psychological, technological); technologies for substantiating management decisions (economic analysis, modeling, simulation modeling, decision tree); methods of system analysis and modeling of business processes; project management methods; methods of data analysis and interpretation; digital management technologies; tools for supporting decision-making and the use of analytical and intelligent systems, methods of data analysis (data analytics), decision support, as well as the use of intelligent and adaptive digital systems.

    modern information and communication equipment, information management systems, digital platforms, cloud services, software products for management and analytical purposes, decision support systems, data analytics tools and applied artificial intelligence tools used in management, business analytics, management analytics and digital monitoring of organizational activities.

The purpose of the educational and professional program «IT Management» is to train management specialists capable of effectively managing organizations, departments, projects and digital products in the digital economy by using information systems, digital platforms, data analytics and artificial intelligence tools to support management decision-making, planning, organization and control of activities, and ensuring their competitiveness in the national and international labor markets, as well as to train specialists for professional activity in an international academic and professional environment within the framework of an international double diploma program.

Teaching and Assessment

Student-centered learning, problem-based and differentiated learning technologies, technologies for intensification and individualization of the educational process, information and digital educational technologies, credit-transfer system for organizing learning, e-learning based on the Moodle distance learning platform, self-study, research-based and project-based learning. Teaching is carried out in the form of lectures, multimedia and interactive lectures, practical classes, laboratory classes, independent work, individual consultations with teachers, completion of individual and group tasks, preparation of coursework (projects), practice reports and bachelor’s qualification work. Independent work of higher education applicants is carried out on the basis of textbooks, teaching and methodological materials, electronic educational resources posted in the repository of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University and on the Moodle platform. Consultations by teachers are carried out in the form of personally-oriented pedagogical interaction of the higher education institution to ensure an individual learning trajectory and in order to acquire professional competencies.

Regulations on the organization of the educational process of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University https://zp.edu.ua/uploads/dept_nm/Nakaz_N507_vid_10.12.21.pdf p.4.4 Control measures include: semester exams and tests, defense of a course work (project), defense of a practice report, public defense of a qualification work, etc. Assessment of academic achievements of higher education applicants is carried out: on a 100-point scale or on a two-point scale (passed – not passed). Positive grades for all forms of control are grades from 60 to 100 points on a 100-point scale and a grade of «passed» on a two-point scale. The limit of unsatisfactory learning according to the results of the final control is a grade below 60 points on a 100-point scale or a grade of «not passed» on a two-point scale. Obtaining a score of 60 points or higher implies obtaining positive grades in all mandatory types of current control specified in the educational component curriculum.

Resource Provision

All scientific and pedagogical workers involved in the implementation of the educational program meet the educational and/or professional qualifications of scientific and pedagogical workers and clauses 37, 38 of the current licensing conditions.

The material and technical support of the program meets the current licensing requirements for the provision of educational services in the field of higher education and allows organizing and conducting classes in all academic disciplines at a high level.

Ensuring the publicity of information about educational programs, degrees of higher education and qualifications; implementation of the information policy of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University https://zp.edu.ua/; publication on the official website of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University of the class schedule, as well as all components of the educational process that are subject to publication in accordance with the Law of Ukraine «On Higher Education». The materials of the educational and methodological support of the educational and professional program are posted on the Moodle educational platform, in the university repository of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University library. Access to the Web of Science platform and the Scopus peer-reviewed literature database is open. Within the framework of the implementation of international educational projects, it is possible to use shared electronic resources and educational and methodological materials of partner institutions. During the implementation of the international double diploma program, students can also use the educational, methodological and information resources of the partner university in accordance with the terms of the international agreement and the internal rules of the partner universities.

Academic Mobility

Re-enrollment of study results is carried out in accordance with the procedure established by the university.

International credit mobility of higher education students in the educational and professional program «IT Management» is implemented within the framework of the international educational project «TANDEM-UA-DE – Teaching and Administration Network for Double Degree Education and Mobility – Ukraine and Germany», which provides for academic exchanges, joint educational components, integrated courses, participation of foreign teachers and the possibility of obtaining a parallel (double degree) diploma in accordance with the concluded inter-institutional agreements. Participation in the TANDEM-UA-DE project ensures the integration of educational trajectories, mutual recognition of learning outcomes and ECTS credits, the development of intercultural competences and the expansion of academic and professional opportunities of students. The possibility of studying in several specialties or in several HEIs simultaneously is determined by the legislation of Ukraine. Education of foreign higher education applicants is conducted on general terms with additional language training. Attestation is carried out in the form of public defense of qualification work

Qualification work should involve the solution of a complex specialized task or a practical problem of system analysis with the application of theoretical provisions and methods of system analysis, intellectual and/or information technologies and is characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions. The qualifying work should not contain academic plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification. The qualification work must be made public by placing it in the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University repository. Publication of qualification works containing information with limited access should be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the law.
