Representatives of the Polytechnic University took part in a meeting of the university community of the All-Ukrainian mental health program “How are you?”

Representatives of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University took part in the meeting of the university community of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program “How Are You?”, which took place on April 28 at Lutsk National Technical University.

The meeting was organized by the Coordination Center for Mental Health of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine within the framework of the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska. The university community of the “How Are You?” program unites higher education institutions that implement best practices in mental health care in the educational environment and develop relevant competencies of future specialists.

The Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University was represented at the event by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Socio-Economic Development and Youth Policy Andriy Ivanchenko and the Coordinator of the University’s Psychological Service Alena Sadykina.

Current challenges in the field of mental health were discussed, in particular the issue of training non-medical specialists, the development of university support services and the formation of a culture of psychological well-being.

During a panel discussion on strategic responses to gaps in specialist training, Alena Sadykina spoke about the experience of the university’s psychological service.

The participants got acquainted with the achievements of LNTU in developing a university environment for supporting mental health: implemented initiatives, as well as services and spaces aimed at forming psychological resilience and well-being of students and employees.

Participation in such initiatives contributes to strengthening the role of universities as centers for forming psychological resilience, developing a culture of mutual support and a responsible attitude to mental health.
