Meeting with veterans
On October 1, the Museum of the History of Technical Progress, together with the Faculty of Humanities and the Zaporizhzhia Humanitarian Vocational College, held a meeting with veterans. There are many holidays on this day – Pokrova, Ukrainian Cossack Day, and October 3 – Zaporizhzhia City Day.
The guests were welcomed by Vice-Rector Andriy Ivanchenko. The event was attended by veterans who studied or taught at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.
College students prepared speeches «Steel in the Blood: A Thousand-Year Code of Victory», «Azovstal and Zmiiniy Island», «242 Days of Invincibility: Why Donetsk Airport Became a Symbol of the Struggle for Independence». Students and teachers thanked the veterans and presented them with gifts.
An exhibition by artist Volodymyr Gordiychenko was opened, dedicated to Zaporizhzhia and our university during the war years.
The guests visited the Museum of the History of Technical Progress as part of a special commemorative event — the official presentation of the updated interactive exhibition «The Book of Memory». Thanks to grant support from the Ukrainian Museum in New York, the space was equipped with a touch panel. Now anyone can conveniently and comprehensively familiarize themselves with digitized materials, biographies and photographs of the fallen Heroes.
