Meeting with a psychologist, coach, volunteer of the NGO «Atlant Support Center» on how to communicate with the military

On October 9, the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University organized an online meeting on the topic «Communication with the military. Psychological consequences of war for Ukrainians.» Guest speaker – Kateryna Derkach – military and crisis psychologist; volunteer of the NGO «Atlant Support Center», certified PCC ICF coach, crisis coach, Life & Business Coach (Kyiv), who works with military personnel, veterans and their family members.

During the meeting, the participants discussed how to understand the military, how to support them, how the war affects those who are in Ukraine under constant threats and what to do about it, and also considered some psychological and coaching approaches in working with the military.

The meeting was held in a dialogue format: the participants asked questions to the speaker, shared their experience of communication and psychological work with military personnel, veterans and their families.

The event was attended by about 120 guests from different parts of Ukraine (Zaporizhzhia, Kremenchuk, Kryvyi Rih, Dnipro, Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Uzhhorod, Lviv, Vinnytsia), as well as those who are temporarily abroad. Among the participants were not only the applicants for the OPP «Psychology» of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, but also the graduates of the department, partners and stakeholders.

Thank you to Ms. Kateryna for a meaningful and very interesting meeting on a relevant and difficult topic and to all participants for their active participation!
