Happy National Emblem of Ukraine Day!
On February 19, we celebrate the Day of the State Coat of Arms of Ukraine. It was on this day in 1992 that the Ukrainian trident was officially approved as the Small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine — one of the main symbols of our statehood.
The trident has a thousand-year history. It was the sign of the princely family of the Rurikovichs – the rulers of Kyivan Rus’, the Ukrainian People’s Republic fought under it, its image was on the insignia of the Ukrainian insurgent army. In different eras, he united Ukrainians in their desire for freedom and their own state.
Today the Trident is not only a state symbol. This is a sign of our unity, strength of spirit and indomitability. He personifies the connection of generations, faith in victory and the responsibility of each of us for the future of Ukraine.
Let the State Coat of Arms of Ukraine inspire us to do good deeds, add confidence and remind us of the greatness of our people. Let’s be worthy of our history and create the future of a strong and independent Ukraine together!
