XVII International Scientific and Technical Conference «Non-metallic inclusions and gases in foundry alloys»
On November 26–27, the XVII International Scientific and Technical Conference «Non-metallic inclusions and gases in foundry alloys» was held in a mixed format at the Department of Machines and Technologies of Foundry Production, in the Educational Hub, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.
The beginning of the conference was preceded by the ceremonial opening of a memorial plaque in honor of Professor Valentin Vasilyevich Lunyov.
The conference was opened by the rector of the university, Viktor Greshta. The participants were welcomed by the Head of the Department of Machines and Foundry Technology Valerii Ivanov, former President of the European Foundry Association «CAEF», Chairman of the Foundry Association of Bulgaria Milko Milanov, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Yuliia Kvasnytska, Director of the State Department of Foundry Production Stepan Klymenko, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the FTIMS of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Pavlo Kalyuzhny, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work, Development Management and International Relations of the State Academy of Sciences Mykhailo Turchanin, Head of the Department of Foundry Production of NTU «KhPI», Vice-President of the Foundry Association of Ukraine Olha Ponomarenko, Head of the Department of Foundry Production «KPI named after. Ihor Sikorsky» Mykhailo Yamshinsky.
Scientists from leading scientific and educational institutions of Ukraine, Germany, Japan, China, Slovakia, and Greece presented their reports at the conference.
The conference topics covered new information about the influence of non-metallic inclusions and gases on the structure and properties of various alloys and products made from them, as well as innovative technologies in foundry and metallurgical production.
The conference became an important platform for testing scientific achievements, exchanging experience, presenting individual and collective achievements, and finding effective ways to solve pressing problems of modern foundry and metallurgy.
