The visit was organized by Professor Yevheniia Sikorski, who has Ukrainian roots and seeks to expand cooperation opportunities with Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic.

During the meeting with the Rector of the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, Professor Stephan Trahasch, and the Director of the University’s International Center, Dr. Oleksandr Burdumy, the prospects for cooperation between our universities were discussed, in particular, the possibilities of academic mobility for students and teachers within the framework of the ERASMUS+KA1 programs of the European Union and the DAAD of the German Academic Exchange Service.

A tour of the university campus was organized for representatives of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, including visits to modern laboratories of the Regional Center for Energy Technologies (RIZ), the Institute of Unmanned Aerial Systems (IUAS), and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Medical Engineering and Computer Science (EMI). During meetings with heads of structural units and professors of the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, Associate Professor Anzhelika Parkhomenko presented to German colleagues the projects of students and postgraduates of the Department of Software of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, and also presented proposals for potential cooperation prepared by the heads of other departments and divisions (Assoc. Prof. Alina Kazurova, Assoc. Prof. Andriy Pyrozhok, Assoc. Prof. Serhiy Samoilyk). While attending the lecture of Professor Michael Schmidt (RIZ) on «Renewable Sources of Electricity», our students had the opportunity to communicate with international students studying at the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences. In turn, Professor Marlen Harter (IUAS) demonstrated her expertise in the field of unmanned aerial vehicle control systems and demonstrated her willingness to lead our student teams within the academic mobility program.
