Opening of the «STEM-Laboratory LEGO» circle
On March 19, the ceremonial opening of the «STEM-Laboratory LEGO» circle took place within the framework of the cooperation of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» with the Educational Space «Action» of the Department of Education of the Energodar City Council.
The first students of the group were children from Energodar Primary School No. 6 and Energodar Multidisciplinary Lyceum. At the opening, they were greeted by vice-rector Andrii Ivanchenko, director of DYUU Olena Nazarova, director of Energodar Primary School No. 6 Iryna Mariyeva and director of Energodar Multidisciplinary Lyceum Iryna Myatovych. They wished the students inspiration and perseverance in their studies, noting that exactly such initiatives help develop future engineers, scientists and inventors.
Group participants will work with innovative LEGO Education SPIKE Prime constructors — modern educational solutions designed for STEAM learning. These kits consist of intelligent blocks, high-precision motors and sensors that, in combination with a large number of different elements, give students the opportunity to invent and assemble amazing robots, autonomous robotic devices and other interactive models. Programming will take place in the SPIKE App environment, which has an intuitive interface. Working with modern LEGO Education SPIKE Prime constructors will help students to reveal their potential, teach them to think logically, experiment and find non-standard solutions.
The creation of a «LEGO STEM laboratory» is an important step in the development of children’s technical creativity, which will stimulate their creative thinking, improve the skills of solving real engineering problems and teamwork, which will be useful when choosing a future profession.
