From Zaporizhzhia to Great Britain — through dialogue and understanding
On April 8, a meeting with our partners and friends, the founders of the British non-profit organization «Casus Pax» Holly Tann and Adam McQuire, took place at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University. They held a vivid and meaningful conversation with schoolchildren, teachers, and graduate students of Zaporizhzhia.
The discussion was attended by students of Zaporizhzhia Academic Lyceum No. 31, Zaporizhzhia Academic Lyceum «Perspektiva», students of Zaporizhzhia Humanitarian Vocational College, our graduate students and employees.
Topics of discussion:
— How media literacy helps distinguish facts from manipulation
— Why critical thinking is a survival skill
— How not to drown in a sea of information sources
— Education systems in Ukraine and the UK: common features and differences.
We are proud of our Zaporizhzhia schoolchildren, who easily and fluently conduct discussions in English, raise important topics, and are open to new knowledge.
The meeting was held with the support of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation at the Educational Hub of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University.
Sincere gratitude to Holly Tann and Adam McQuire for a warm, meaningful, and fascinating conversation! We appreciate the support that the United Kingdom provides to Ukraine and our University in particular! We look forward to new meetings!
