Participation of the winners of the «Psychology» vocational training course in a lecture about the work of a psychologist in a shelter
Our winners of the «Psychology» OPP regularly improve their professional awareness and qualifications and, together with the teachers of the Department of Psychology, join lectures and webinars on current topics.
On May 23, first-year master’s students and second-year bachelor’s students joined the lecture on the topic «Work of a psychologist in a shelter» within the framework of studying the relevant optional disciplines («Psychological assistance in emergency situations» and «Psychology of crisis and emergency situations»). The lecture was conducted by Serhii Vishnevskyi, the head of the psychological support department of the personnel support department of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, who is an official partner of our university. The event was organized by the Association of Higher School Psychologists of Ukraine.
During the meeting, the listeners learned about the work experience of full-time practical psychologists of the Department of Psychological Support of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs in a shelter during air raids; got acquainted with the entire range of directions and forms of work of a practical psychologist — from conducting individual psychological consultations and diagnostics to studying the socio-psychological climate and conducting measures of psycho-emotional support for all categories of persons.
Serhii Vatslavovych talked about the work techniques successfully used by psychologists of the department for adults and children during air alarms in the shelter, gave interesting examples from practical work, answered the participants’ questions.
