Participation of the winners of the «Psychology» OPP in a lecture on the psyche of a professor from Kremenchuk
On October 25, the assistant professor of the Department of Psychology, Kateryna Pilypenko, together with our first-year students, within the framework of studying the OC «General Psychology» and «Psychophysiology», took part in a lecture by Oleh Solovyov – doctor of psychological sciences, professor, professor of the Department of Psychology, Pedagogy and Philosophy of Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi Kremenchug National University, which was devoted to the topic «Psychology becomes conceptually rigorous a science that dares to add significantly to the physical picture of the world without reason.»
During the lecture, Oleh Volodymyrovych drew attention to the following:
- Psyche and consciousness are an evolutionarily formed means of accumulating information in the brain during the life of creatures, so that by integrating this information they could respond to environmental novelty, that is, be creative within the limits of the complexity of their brain.
- The ability of living beings with a correspondingly developed brain to subjective evaluation and freedom of choice are the drivers of the mental process that unfolds on the neural network of the brain.
- Physical science does not take into account that in the brain, information processes carried out through mental phenomena orchestrate physical processes so that they function biologically and socially expediently. The physical arrow of time is actually formed through a mental representation of reality. After all, the idea of the past and probable future is purely mental. And only the present has a physical ontology on this arrow.
The lecture aroused great interest and interest among the listeners. In addition to first-year undergraduate students, it was also joined by first-year master’s students of the Psychology Department, expanding their knowledge of psychophysiology and fundamental psychological research.
