Participation of the National Research Council «Research Infrastructures» of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University in a meeting with representatives of the European Commission
At the end of January, a bilateral meeting of Ukraine and the European Commission was held in Kyiv on the integration of Ukraine into the European Research Area and the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law in the field of science and research. The event was organized by the National Office of Horizon Europe in Ukraine.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Horizon Europe Office, the National Contact Points (NCPs) of the Horizon Europe program, as well as representatives of Ukraine in the committees of the European Commission.
The Head of the NCP «Research Infrastructures» Dmytro Pavlenko joined the discussions, in particular on expanding access of Ukrainian scientists to European research infrastructures.
The main topics of the meeting:
- the process of Ukraine’s accession to the European Research Area and the harmonization of national legislation with EU law
- opportunities for Ukrainian researchers within the Horizon Europe program
- European experience in shaping research policies: the role of national delegates in program committees
- development of Horizon Europe work programs with an emphasis on plans for 2025
The meeting became an important platform for discussing ways to integrate Ukraine into the European scientific community. Cooperation with the EU opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian researchers and contributes to raising the level of scientific research in Ukraine.
