A series of events dedicated to honoring the heroism of Ukrainians up to 1000 days of war

November 19, 2024 marked 1,000 days since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian troops.

At the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic, a series of events dedicated to honoring the heroism of Ukrainians in the unequal struggle against the occupiers took place.

On November 19, students of our university and colleges visited the exhibition «War for Independence» in the Zaporizhzhia Regional Museum of Local History. During the visit, they learned more about the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine from the time of the occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in February 2014 and the capture of parts of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in the spring of the same year to the time of the full-scale invasion.

On November 20, the youth of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic watched the film «The Hardest Hour» by director Alan Badoev, the winner of the «Cinema for victory» documentary film festival. The film consists entirely of footage shot on personal phones from 12,000 Ukrainians who survived the war or their memories of the occupation.

Also on November 20, the exhibition «Seven feet under the keel» by Volodymyr Gordiychenko, our philosophy teacher who defended the Motherland in 2014 and is now demobilized due to age, was opened at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University. Mr. Volodymyr’s works of art, dedicated to sea adventures, can be enjoyed in auditorium 336 of the main building of the university. The exhibition will last until December 25. We are grateful for the organization of the Museum of the History of Technical Progress and the Transport Faculty of the University.
