A series of events for schoolchildren and students from international partners of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic – the British non-profit organization «Casus Pax»

The activities were attended by students of Zaporizhzhia Gymnasium No. 93 and Zaporizhzhia Academic Lyceum No. 23, students of various specialties of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic and Zaporizhzhia Humanitarian Vocational College – a separate structural unit of the university.

On November 21, an exclusive Speaking club was held with native English speakers – an opportunity to practice and a great chance to immerse yourself in an authentic language environment, experience the live dynamics of conversation and increase confidence in your communication skills. Students and schoolchildren listened with enthusiasm to the stories of the guests, learned about the cultural features of Great Britain and talked about Ukrainian traditions. Even the most reserved participants quickly opened up and boldly supported the dialogue.

On November 28, Professor Adam McQuire and Professor Holly Tann gave guest lectures: «Modern Conflict in European Public Memory 1914–1945: An Introduction» and «Scholarly Communication: An Introduction» respectively.

Professor McQuire captivated the audience with his account of how the events of the first half of the 20th century shaped collective memory in Europe. His lecture covered key moments between the two world wars and their impact on public consciousness, including how these events still resonate in politics, art and culture even today. The professor revealed complex topics through the prism of historical truth and modern interpretations.

Professor Tann’s speech was filled with practical examples and insights on how to effectively disseminate information, taking into account the specifics of the target audience. She emphasized the role of clear and transparent communication in the world of science, emphasizing that it is the accessibility of knowledge that shapes the society of the future. Students learned about the importance of an interdisciplinary approach and creativity in presenting information.

Thank you to our partners from «Casus Pax» for supporting Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University and the entire Ukrainian people! We are waiting for new activities!
