Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic students are volunteers at a summer camp in the Carpathians

In July, master’s students of the Department of Psychology Kateryna Filonenko and Sofiia Cherednychenko (CH-113m) became volunteer psychologists for the second shift of the summer camp «Ukrainians Travel the World» in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. Participation in the project was a pleasant continuation of the department’s cooperation with the Children’s Friends Foundation.

During the shift, Kateryna and Sofiia worked with children from families of IDPs and families of military personnel from the Zaporizhzhia Specialized Boarding School «Sichovy Collegium», as well as children in crisis categories from the Poltava Art Lyceum named after Sofiia Rusova.

Hiking to Mount Magura, conquering Hoverla, visiting «Polonina Pertsi», a visit to the Museum of Carpathian Miniatures and the «Museum of Hutsul Life», relaxing near the waterfalls «Guk Zhenetsky» and «Probiy», as well as visiting the sights of Vorokhta – this is all part of the camp’s rich program. And in general, it was dedicated to «traveling» to different countries of the world.

Our psychologists skillfully introduced children to each other, facilitated their adaptation to new conditions, helped them relax negative emotions and master the skills of unity and teamwork.

The camp was organized by the Children’s Friends Charity Foundation (pryyateliditey) with sponsorship from the Razom for Ukraine Charity Organization (RazomInUkraine) and caring organizations, including: UCARE, Inc. (groups/UCAREInc), Friendship Society «Kansai Ukraine – Japan.»
