STEM project «Weather Station»
On April 8, the first practical lesson for students of grades 8–9 of Zaporizhzhia Gymnasium No. 106 on engineering components for the physical implementation of the STEM project «Weather Station» took place.
Under the guidance of Danyl Rengevych, a computer science teacher at Zaporizhzhia Gymnasium No. 106, and Ihor Poleshko, head of the «Robotics with Arduino» group at the Children’s and Youth Scientific University, the schoolchildren began to get acquainted with the hardware part of the project and are already conducting physical experiments on real equipment.
The Arduino-based Weather Station project is an automated device for measuring weather parameters: temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and light. It uses sensors connected to an Arduino board to collect data in real time. The obtained readings can be displayed on the screen or transferred to a computer or the cloud for further analysis.
The children gained initial skills in drawing up diagrams and independently developed the part of the project that is intended to display measured data on the indicator.
