The new season of the ICPC World Student Programming Championship has started!
On September 28, the first qualifying stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Programming Olympiad, which is part of the Southeastern Europe semi-final of the ICPC World Student Programming Championship (ICPC — SEERC — Ukraine — 2024), was held in a mixed format. The goal of the competition is to improve the level of training of future IT specialists, support talented youth and expand international cooperation.
To participate in the qualifying competitions, 8 student teams from FIBEK and FCNT of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University were registered:
- three teams from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering: NUZP_Potuzhnij_Bashmak, NUZP_Junishki, NUZP_Prodam_Garazh
- two teams from the Department of ITEZ: NUZP_Scythians, NUZP_LikeATriumvirat
- team from the Department of Software: NUZP_STdealers
- team from the Department of Information and Communication Technology: NUZP_Cyberwire
- team from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering: NUZP_Cyberwire

A special feature of this year’s competition for Ukrainians was the new platform for holding tournaments, which the participants first saw only at the trial round, but this did not hinder the real professionals!
According to the results of the competition in the Zaporizhzhia region, four of our teams took prizes in the student division:
2nd place:
- NUZP_Potuzhnij_Bashmak team (Ivan Sapronov, KNT-523, Mykhailo Korpan, KNT-513, Dmytro Yakovlev, KNT-514sp, coach – senior lecturer Olha Polska)
3rd place:
- NUZP_STdealers team (Ihor Stepanov, KNT-112, Stanislav Fedyshen, KNT-112, Kyrylo Koganty, KNT-122, Olha Shcherbyna, KNT-121, coach — senior lecturer Larisa Deynega)
- NUZP_Scythians team (Ivan Bushman, BK-612, Andriy Nesterenko, Danylo Mustafayev, BK-613sp, Vladyslav Nagurny, BK-613m, coach — associate professor Nataliia Mironova)
- NUZP_LikeATriumvirat team (Egor Ponomarev, Oleksiy Maslov, Pavlo Reznichenko, BK-611, coach – Associate Professor Nataliia Mironova)
All four teams of NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» will continue the competition in the II stage, which will be held online on October 19-20.
