Cooperation of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University with Micas Simulations Limited
On November 21, the rector of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Greshta signed a cooperation agreement with the head of the British company Micas Simulations Limited Mykola Biba, as a result of which the university received a licensed software product «QForm».
The program simulates cold and hot volumetric stamping, forging, longitudinal, section and screw flattening, sheet stamping, ring rolling, profile pressing, heat treatment and microstructure evolution.
The main goals of using the program:
- reducing production costs through the absence of experiments and test stampings
- improving product quality – detecting and eliminating defects, analyzing and improving stability tool
- design optimization, organization of digital production
The software received by Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University will contribute to improving the quality of the educational process under the OP «Equipment and technologies for plastic forming of mechanical engineering structures» and other related programs. The free licensed product will provide places to work in a computer classroom and in a cloud environment, which in turn allows you to work with the program remotely.
In February, an international student Olympiad on modeling metal processing processes using the «QForm» program is planned.
