Reintegration of veterans and combatants at the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic
About a million defenders of Ukraine currently have the status of a participant in hostilities. Starting this school year, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine «On the Status of War Veterans, Guarantees of Their Social Protection», the state provides combatants with targeted support for obtaining professional (vocational and technical), professional pre-higher and higher education in state and communal educational institutions.
One of the features of the 2024 admissions campaign in front-line Zaporizhzhia is a large number of applicants who are veterans and active military personnel who have decided to master a civilian profession. Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University has provided an informationally open and comfortable admission for all military personnel. Our specialists tried to find the right individual approach for everyone.
All processes of support and provision of proper consultation support for veterans and veterans at the stages of the admission campaign were carefully monitored personally by Rector Viktor Greshta.
Members of the Reception Commission maintained constant contact with the command of combat units, taking into account the complexity and importance of the work of the military.
A flexible schedule for conducting online interviews was drawn up: we took into account the employment of each applicant. Some of the servicemen appeared for a video interview immediately after combat duty, and, despite their fatigue, skillfully answered the questions of the subject commission.
All consulting support during the entry into the Zaporizhzhia Military Academy for military personnel was provided by the Public Organization «Our Dreams of Yua». Four informational meetings were held live on the basis of universities, a number of master classes on writing motivational letters and consultations on the use of educational certificates (with the support of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Employment Center) in online format. In total, more than 500 servicemen, veterans, as well as their family members contacted the consultation center during the Admission Campaign-2024.
